Mr. Bryson was the proud recipient of the 2017 Pride in Peoria Award. This is awarded to individuals, groups, or organizations that have made a significant contribution to improve the City of Peoria. The award recognized NMI successful job training efforts, partnerships and collaborations.
New Millennium Institute's Life Skills & Job Readiness Bootcamp Receives National Attention
Each year, the City of Peoria recognizes neighborhood leaders through the Neighborhood Awards Program. January 17, 2017 New Millennium Institute launched its Life Skills and Job Readiness Bootcamp. The following week, January 24, 2017, Next City published an article on the Bootcamp.
Next City is a nonprofit organization provides daily online coverage of the leaders, policies and innovations driving progress in metropolitan regions across the world. In September the City of Peoria and NMI partnered and developed a life skills and job readiness initiative which successfully developed talent pipelines of job ready applicants to employers.
Mentoring Program Gives People a Second Chance

A boot camp in Peoria is helping people change their lives. The New Millennium Institute offers a Life Skills and Job Readiness Bootcamp, looking to help people overcome the mistakes of their past or who need an extra boost of hope.
Male Summit
NMI collaborated with city and community leaders and interested citizens to host its fourth African American Male Leadership Summit. The summit produced a big turnout Saturday, April 14 at Peoria’s Gateway Building.
Partnership Luncheon
NMI hosted its Partnership Luncheon May10, at Woodruff Technical Career Center. The Center’s award winning culinary arts program served a delicious lunch.
